The announcement we made the last time was not accurate about this episode. This is not the Opera-hen story. This is a completely original, extra episode that falls between the end of Nodame Cantabile the main series and Nodame Cantabile Opera-hen. It’s spring. Nodame is getting very close to graduating from the Conservatoire. Chiaki is keeping himself busy professionally. And here comes the middle-age crisis…
Batch torrent coming later
P.S.
If you want some opera goodness, grab this CD of excerpts from the Magic Flute that accompanied this latest volume of manga.

Here’s the special episode included with the first DVD release in Japan. It turns out to be a prelude to the series, that is, it’s actually a link between Paris Hen and Finale. Accordingly, we’ve called it episode 0, and it is truly the last part of Finale. The next special, Opera Hen, stands on its own, and there may be more than one of them, as the Opera Hen manga is not complete yet.
This episode focuses as much on the side characters as it does on Nodame and Chiaki. We get to catch up with Mine and Kiyora and to see more of Jean and Yuki. It’s a lot of fun. Bon appetit! (Yeah, it’s a mixed metaphor, but my French isn’t up to “Good viewing!”)
Note that this episode is only available in SD, because it’s from a standard DVD source.

The title says it all – this is the very final chapter of Nodame story. Nodame has taken some detours. So did Chiaki. Heck, so did I. But here we are, with solid future in sight.
P.S.
We will be subbing two extra episodes coming out next month. April 6th: the extra episode about Mine and Kiyora, and April 26th, the Opera Chapter.

Elise was there when Chiaki won the Platini International. She mobilized Oliver to execute Operation Prometheus in the Desert. He’s now her slave, working like a draft horse, leading up the orchestras around the world. Elise is here again when Nodame won the solo debut with Stresemann. Nodame will now become Elise’s Giant Warrier to conquer the world. Fire the Chopin Beam! The world belongs to me!
P.S.
We decided to share this one scene below with translation, rather than spend next 5 months Photoshopping and AFXing it for the sake of perfect release:

And it’s good stuff. When I heard Chiaki play Rachmaninoff, I liked it pretty good. (season 1) It’s the revenge of S Orchestra’s mascot girl. And it’s just as dramatic, grand and impressive. Yeah, yeah, it’s equally impressive that Chopin wrote this piece in his teens, but who cares? Yeah, yeah, it’s not so impressive that the orchestra is mostly underutilized in this piece, but who cares?
ふおぉぉぉぉぉぉ、しゅごいです。
P.S.
Happy White Day!
