The announcement we made the last time was not accurate about this episode. This is not the Opera-hen story. This is a completely original, extra episode that falls between the end of Nodame Cantabile the main series and Nodame Cantabile Opera-hen. It’s spring. Nodame is getting very close to graduating from the Conservatoire. Chiaki is keeping himself busy professionally. And here comes the middle-age crisis…

doesn’t that essentially mean that this is a “nodame cantabile OVA 2″ rather than the final episode of finale?ﾂ I mean, even the OP is from the first series…
No both OP and ED for this episodes are from the Finale season.ﾂ The title on the screen, however, says Nodame Cantabile, not Nodame Cantabile Finale.ﾂ The only reason we numbered this as “12″ is because this happens after 11th episode of the Finale season.

Because the manga is just in two parts: the main series and the Bangai-hen (Opera-chapter). This episode falls between the two (in anime, it’s after the last ep of Finale, before Bangai-hen starts).
